1、 Types of common reducers

(1) The harmonic drive of harmonic reducer uses the controllable elastic deformation of flexible components to transmit motion and power, which is small in volume and high in precision. However, the disadvantage is that the flexible wheel has limited life, is not shock resistant, and its rigidity is poor compared with metal parts. The input speed cannot be too high.

(2) Planetary reducer has the advantages of compact structure, small return clearance, high precision, long service life and large rated output torque. But the price is a little higher.

(3) The main feature of worm gear reducer is that it has reverse self-locking function and can have larger reduction ratio. The input shaft and output shaft are not on the same axis or plane. But the general volume is large, the transmission efficiency is not high, the accuracy is not high.

2、 Function of reducer

(1) At the same time, the inertia of the load is reduced, which is the square of the reduction ratio. You can see that general motors have a value of inertia.

(2) Speed down and increase the output torque at the same time. The ratio of torque output is motor output multiplied by reduction ratio, but the rated torque of reducer should not be exceeded.

3、 Types of reducers

General reducer has helical gear reducer, including parallel shaft helical gear reducer, worm gear reducer, bevel gear reducer, etc., planetary gear reducer, cycloid pin gear reducer, worm gear reducer, planetary friction type mechanical continuously variable transmission, etc.

Reducer is generally used for low speed and high torque transmission equipment. The motor, internal combustion engine or other high-speed running power is reduced by meshing the gear with few teeth on the input shaft of reducer with the big gear on the output shaft. Ordinary reducer will also have several pairs of gears with the same principle to achieve the ideal reduction effect. The ratio of the number of teeth of the big and small gears is the transmission ratio.
